Marietta and the Northwest Territory Celebrates 221 Years of History
Sponsored by the Marietta Chapter Sons of the American Revolution

April 3, 2009 – Patriots and Pioneers Reception at Campus Martius Museum. 5:30 - 8pm. Free tours and open to public. Program at 7:00pm: Dr. Richard Walker of Springfield, IL, author of “ Wolf Creek & the Muskingum : The Treaty at Ft. Harmar: Where Extortion Married Larceny.

April 3, 2009 – Marietta Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Chapter Library open 10am - 2pm, free and open to researching your patriot ancestor.

April 3, 2009 - Oliver Tucker Museum and log cabin tours, Beverly, 10am - 2pm

April 4, 2009 – Patriots and Pioneers Conference at Washington State Community College. History and genealogy classes and displays. 8am - 5pm, Cost $25.00 and includes Subway lunch.

April 4, 2009 – Campus Martius Museum, open free to the public, sponsored by the Marietta Chapter Sons of the American Revolution, 9am - 5pm

April 4, 2009 – Belpre Historical Society, Farmers Castle Museum, ‘Tartan Day Scottish History Celebration’ 11am - 3:00pm - Museum, Bag Pipers, Genealogy, Tartan Displays, Scottish Games.

April 4, 2009 - Association of Ohio Long Rifle Collectors at the Lafayette Hotel, 9:00am - 5:00pm. The admission cost for males: $3.00, women & children Free. Featured gunsmith: Humberger family.

April 5, 2009 – Henry Fearing House tours, Harmar, 1 - 4pm.

April 5, 2009 – Oliver Tucker Museum tours, Beverly, 1 - 4pm.

April 6, 2009 – First Congregational Church, bell ringing of the carillon will be performed with various patriotic tunes. Noon - 12:30pm

April 6, 2009 - History Program at Oak Grove Cemetery at Unknown Pioneers Plot, “General James M. Varnum”, 1pm, meet at 8th and Wooster Street Gate. (Rain event at Marietta Middle School)

April 7, 2009 – Washington Co. Historical Society Pioneers Day Dinner, Comfort Inn, Marietta. Guest speaker is author Alan Fitzpatrick, a native of Canada, who authored “Wilderness War on the Ohio, The Untold Story of the Savage Battle for British & Indian Control of the Ohio Country during the American Revolution.” He based his work on British & Canadian historical archives research.

April 7, 2009 – Annual Pioneers Day Bell Ringing at Fearing House: All Harmar school students and open to public. Henry Fearing House tours during school hours.
